At Kernow Kids Sports, the safety, welfare and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe, positive and inclusive environment where every child can participate, develop confidence and enjoy sport.

 

We believe that all children have the right to be protected from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation regardless of their age, gender, disability, ethnicity, religion or background.

Safer Recruitment

 

 

To help ensure children are safe, Kernow Kids Sports is committed to:

 

  • Holding an enhanced DBS check.

  • Maintaining appropriate safeguarding training.

  • Holding a valid Paediatric First Aid qualification.

  • Following safer working practices at all times.

 

 

 

 

Our Expectations

 

 

All children attending our sessions should:

 

  • Treat coaches and other children with kindness and respect.

  • Follow instructions to help keep everyone safe.

  • Respect equipment and facilities.

  • Help create a positive environment where everyone feels included.

 

 

Bullying, discrimination or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

 

 

 

Parents and Carers

 

 

Parents and carers are asked to:

 

  • Provide accurate medical and emergency contact information.

  • Inform us of any additional needs or relevant medical conditions.

  • Arrive promptly for drop-off and collection.

  • Notify us if someone different will be collecting their child.

 

 

 

 

Photography and Video

 

 

Photographs and videos may occasionally be taken during sessions for promotional purposes.

 

Images will only be used where appropriate consent has been provided through the booking process. Parents or carers may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

 

 

 

Reporting Concerns

 

 

Any safeguarding concern relating to a child attending Kernow Kids Sports will always be taken seriously.

 

Where appropriate, concerns will be recorded and referred to the relevant safeguarding agencies in accordance with current safeguarding guidance.

 

If a child is believed to be at immediate risk of harm, the appropriate emergency services or children’s social care will be contacted immediately.
